The syndicate
Four of eight shares are available. What a share is, and what it costs.
What a share is: one eighth of a finished boat
Four of eight shares are available. Doug and I hold the other four.
- An equal eighth of the boat, engines and full drive train
- Finished by us: fitout, hardtop and topcoat, in the shed at Shell Point
- Equal time on her, the same as every other share
- An equal say in anything the syndicate decides about her
You do not have to be handy, and you do not have to find a shed. You have to want the boat.
What it costs: $10,000 a share
Plus an equal share of the running costs.
- Running costs split eight ways, approx. $1,000 a year per share — see Annual maintenance for the full breakdown
- Covers the mooring, the annual haul-out and antifoul, registration, insurance and engine servicing
- The cost of finishing her is ours, not the syndicate's
Once she is finished she is watertight and running, and she goes in the water on her own bottom.
